Chutes de Laxapana

Les chutes de Laxapana ont une hauteur de 126 mètres. Cela en ferait la huitième chute d'eau la plus haute du pays, seulement dépassée par des mastodontes comme les chutes Dunhinda et Babarakanda. Il est situé à Nuwara Eliya - dans la région de Maskeliya, juste à côté d'un petit village appelé Kiriwan Eliya, pour être exact. Les chutes de Laxapana sont formées par la Maskeliya Oya, dans la mesure où elle se forme avec la Kehelgamu Oya pour former la célèbre rivière Kelani. À l'heure actuelle, la cascade donne son nom aux stations hydroélectriques de Laxapana, qui se trouvent à proximité les unes des autres.
