Weligama’s broad bay is Sri Lanka’s classic learner beach break—a sand-bottom playground with long, soft reforming waves and dozens of surf schools. It’s forgiving for first-timers on small days, while the outer banks offer longer rides for progressing surfers.

Most reliable from Ноябрь–апрель with light morning offshores. Shoulder months can still produce sessions; mid-year often sees onshores and smaller/less consistent swell on the southwest coast.
