Overview: Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
Слоновий приют Пиннавала, established in 1975, is one of Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife conservation centers.
It was created to care for orphaned, injured, and abandoned elephants and today is home to the largest herd of captive elephants in the world.
Visitors can watch elephants being fed, see adorable baby elephants, and enjoy the magical sight of herds bathing in the Maha Oya River nearby.
It offers an unforgettable glimpse into conservation and Sri Lanka’s close bond with these gentle giants.
