Makandawa Forest Reserve, located in the lush region of Kitulgala in Sri Lanka, is one of the island’s oldest and most important lowland rainforest reserves. Established mainly for the purpose of conserving the biodiversity of the wet zone, it spans an area of about 1,155 hectares and is a paradise for nature lovers, researchers, and adventure seekers alike.
