About the new luxury train and Schedule 

The New ‘ Rajarata odyssey’ train would encourage many pilgrims and global travellers to Anuradhapura during weekends.

Therefore, the ‘Rajarata odyssey’ will depart the Colombo Fort Railway station at 9.20 am on Saturdays and arrive at the Anuradhapura railway station at 1.42 pm. The train will leave Anuradhapura to Colombo at 5 pm on Sundays to reach Colombo Fort at 9.00 pm. The train stops only at Gampaha, Weyangoda and Polgahawela railway stations. The new luxury train includes 480 seats, ten air-conditioned carriages, and two second-class compartments. The ticket price is Rs. 2,400 for the first-class expedition.
