El Jardín Botánico de la Zona Seca de Mirijjawila es el jardín botánico líder en Sri Lanka, diseñado por expertos locales. El jardín botánico principal, construido después del Jardín Botánico de Gampaha hace 130 años, se construyó en una zona semiárida. Este jardín botánico de primera categoría en Sri Lanka se fundó en una zona semiárida para mantener ex situ las plantas de zonas semiáridas y secas, como uno de sus principales objetivos. The Dry Zone Botanic Gardens is in Mirijjawila, just outside Hambantota in Sri Lanka's Southern Province. The gardens are open daily from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, and entrance fees are very reasonable.
