This sacred ground is the final resting place for 203 souls: 107 British, 35 East Africans, 26 Sri Lankans, 23 Indians, 6 Canadians, 3 Italians, 1 Frenchman, and two unidentified persons. Among these, 151 served in the army, 32 in the air force, and 16 in the navy, with others from the merchant navy and national fire service.

The cemetery, now maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, includes a special memorial for a naval officer whose grave remains unlocated. This commission's efforts ensure that the dignity and sanctity of the site are upheld.

The Kandy War Cemetery is wheelchair accessible, with daily visiting hours from 7 AM to 4 PM. Its serene environment offers a space for reflection and remembrance.
