Overview: SK Town (Medawatta) – Lakshawaththa Beach
Just south of Matara, watch for the signposted turning to S’K Town (Medawatta). The village sits a little off the A2, keeping things quieter than the highway strip.
Lakshawaththa Beach is a safe, sandy pause plage that’s ideal for beginners and longboarders—generally less crowded and a touch cleaner than Weligama.
You’ll find plenty of guesthouses and small hotels scattered around the lanes, plus a few surf schools and cafés right by the beach.
