A national-level programme to mark 'World Tourism Day In Sri Lanka' will be held on September 2024 at Habarana in Habarana Village by Cinnamon on the outskirts of North Central Province.

National Tourism Day is celebrated across the country, and this year's theme for National Tourism Day is 'Rethinking Tourism; Rural and Community Centric Tourism'.
As part of National Tourism Day, seminars, cultural events and other programmes will be organised by the SRI LANKA TOURISM and the North Central Provincial government. While several Provinces have organised events to promote tourism in their region, the central government Authorities contain the main event in Habarana.

About North Central Province

The most extensive province of Sri Lanka, discovered in the dry zone of the North Central Province, consists of two organisational districts, Anuradhapura I Polonnaruwa are comprehended for their centuries-old agriculture, ancient Sinhalese empires and sites of Buddhist worshippings, such as Sri Maha Bodhi I Ruwanweliseya. Habarana is found where Dambulla-Trincomalee (A6) road encounters the Anuradhapura-Polonnaruwa (A11) route in the district of Anuradhapura, almost on the edge of the adjacent Polonnaruwa. Habarana Village, located within the cultural triangle, includes the most popular attractions, Sigiriya, Dambulla Temple, Minneriya national park & Kaudulla national park.
