More Details about this Attraction
Proponents of the theory suggest that this site, as Alakeshwara's palace, paints a vivid picture of a skilled administrator and formidable warrior. According to this narrative, Alakeshwara harboured ambitions of kingship, a dream cut short by a fatal encounter. Legend has it that his demise met at the jaws of crocodiles in the Bahirawa Pokuna following a failed bid for power, leaving no remains for cremation. Hence, they argue, this must have been his royal abode.
Two foundations, constructed with kabok (clay-iron stone), stand as silent sentinels amidst the gentle embrace of grassy knolls. The discovery of artifacts like water filters, grinding stones, and other domestic relics lends credence to the belief that this site once hosted the residence of a nobleman.
Despite the tantalizing clues unearthed within the cemetery's confines, the enigma of Alakeshwara's legacy remains unresolved. Each artifact tells a story, and each stone holds a secret, yet the complete narrative eludes us.As custodians of our shared history, we are responsible for preserving and protecting sites like the Cemetery of Alakeshwara.
