As per the tale, King Rawana pierced a rabbit while journeying from 'Patupavakahinna Kanda', giving rise to the mountain's name 'Ha Gala'. Access to Hawagala can be found along the road to Pahanthuduwa Falls, approximately 3 km from the Pambahinna area. Travelling from Colombo, descending from Belihuloya and embarking on the Hawagala climb is recommended. The path to the mountain's peak, commencing through Laduyaya Estate, involves navigating a rugged stretch of around three kilometres.
