According to local legend, the falls are tied to a love story in which lovers leapt to their deaths from the waterfall cliff. One version of the tale tells of a royal prince who became lost in the jungle while hunting and was rescued by a young woman from a nearby village. They fell in love during their journey back to safety. However, due to the difference in their social statuses, the prince's parents strongly opposed their marriage. In despair, the young couple decided to jump hand in hand from the top of the waterfall, choosing to be united in death and find everlasting love that way.
Haunting Beliefs: The tragic nature of the lovers' story has led to the belief that their spirits still haunt the area. Some locals avoid entering the forest around the waterfall at night, believing in the presence of the ghosts of the ill-fated lovers.
