Rumassala hill – Galle
Description
Rumassala hill is located just over 5 kilometres from Galle Fort. It is a popular attraction and natural wonder steeped in mythological stories. According to the chronicle of the Ramayana, the hill is believed to be a part of the Himalayan Mountain Range, as exotic flora that can only be found in the Himalayas flourish here.
Assigned as a wildlife sanctuary, Rumassala Hill is a haven for both endemic and migratory birds and the perfect place for bird-watching enthusiasts.
