Scuba Diving – Dehivala
Description
Island Scuba is well fitted to new and expert divers alike due to its shallow depth and plethora of temperate marine life. It is located 10 kilometres from Colombo CDB, Dehivala.
This site is essential as a scuba instructor. It is one of the first introduced water dives that learners experience whilst learning to dive in Colombo. The site also contributes a range of classes often alien to those accustomed to the tropical water aquatic world.
As you descent under the line, you start to observe a shadowy mass that is the superstructure of a cargo ship. But you admire at the strange yellow assemblage off in the range – as you get more approaching and recognise it is a hall of hundreds of snapper, swinging out by the bow of the wreck. And observe closely, and you’ll watch all varieties of macrohistory. Yes, and don’t forget to see up often because there may be whale sharks travelling by.
If you are a sharp wreck-head, Colombo should perform your eyes light up. Wrecks range in size from the extensive Thermopylae Sierra wreck, with keen-sightedness opportunities for all skill levels to smaller tug boats – and each of them plays host to a large resident fish population.
Therefore whether you prefer wrecks or want to experience marine life, these sites hold something for you.
