Description
Ambuluwawa Temple is a fantastic place situated in Gampola, Sri Lanka. Both the site itself and the stunning views seen from the area are spectacular. The area is located on a summit called Ambuluwawa, about 3500 feet from sea level.
Also though it is called Ambuluwawa Temple, it is not just a typical Buddhist temple where only Buddhist devotees come. This is where believers from all the four major religions in Sri Lanka have separate places to worship. It is further a unique tourist point rather than a religious place.
In 2006 Ambuluwawa Peak was formed as a bio-diversity complex and a multi-religious centre. This Hill is known as a place with immense bio-diversity. The Hill is built out of a unique kind of rock, and it is believed that stone is at a minimum rate of erosion.
Education on bio-diversity and the stones are yet ongoing, and more and more studies are held out. Therefore, local and foreign researchers are expedited at Ambuluwawa Temple to perform their analysis.
