Devathura Waterfalls, originally named Thevathura Falls, translates to "Tea Waterfall," paying homage to its connection with the renowned Peratas Tea Estate and factory located above. With a height of 10 meters, the waterfall unfolds its beauty in three cascades, with the lowest part near the road at the Ramboda Pass. This cascading effect can sometimes confuse travellers, giving the illusion of being a branch of the nearby Ramboda Falls.

As you approach Devathura Falls, only a 10-meter segment of the waterfall is visible from the road, adding an element of mystery and anticipation to the journey. The surrounding area is a delightful mix of trees, plants, and the melodies of birds, creating a charming ambience that enhances the overall experience.

Devathura Falls, situated approximately 26 km from Nuwara-Eliya, offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city life. The journey along the Peradeniya – Badulla – Chenkaladi Highway up to Ramboda is a scenic route that sets the stage for the natural spectacle awaiting travellers. The lush greenery, winding roads, and glimpses of the cascading waterfall make this journey an integral part of the adventure.

Adjacent to Devathura Falls lies the old Nuwara-Eliya road, once frequented before the Ramboda Tunnel era. This narrow road, though challenging to fathom in today's context, carries historical significance, providing a glimpse into the way people traversed the area before modern infrastructure.
