Devon Falls, identified as the 'Veil of the Valley', is a waterfall in Sri Lanka, found 6 km west of Talawakele, Nuwara Eliya District. The falls are after a pioneer English coffee agriculturist Devon, whose plantation was located near the falls. The cascade is 97 m high and is the 19th highest on the island. The fall is framed by a river of Kothmale Oya, a part of the Mahaweli River. The height of Devon Falls is 1,140 m above sea level.

How to Reach Devon Falls, Sri Lanka?

Devon Water Falls is 6 kilometres west of Talawakele, Nuwara Eliya District, before reaching Hatton on the A7 highway. If you are coming from Colombo, it will take you less than 4 hours on the Avissawella - Hatton route, approximately 135 kilometres. From Nuwara Eliya, it is just 30 kilometres away, taking 1 hour to reach. The finest viewpoint is right in front of the Mlesna Tea Center. You shall get to the top of the waterfall by taking a left from Dimbula (before the tea centre) and going for 700 meters down the Dimbula – Nawalapitiya Road.
