The Bambaragala Temple is an old refuge at Pettigala Mountain's base full of stories and legends. With its 79 historical caves, the temple tells the story of monastery life from the 2nd and 3rd centuries A.D. The Indrasala Guhava and Sithuwam Lena caves, filled with old paintings and stories of Buddha's trips but not supported by written records, are highlights.
