Ukrainian travellers staying in Sri Lanka have been hardly disturbed by the current Russian-Ukrainian situation.
Consequently, they are currently staying at hotels in a few locations in Sri Lanka and are incapable of travelling to their dwelling motherland.
They are demanding that they be permitted to stay in Sri Lanka until the war circumstances in Ukraine is settled.
The Sri Lanka Government has concentrated on extending the visa duration for Ukrainian tourists who are incapable of returning to their motherland due to the warfare.
Therefore, Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga noted that the Government is assuming extending the visas of Ukrainian tourists who cannot travel and further stated that this proposal will be presented at the Cabinet meeting held tomorrow (28).

According to the Tourism Development Authority, almost 4,000 Ukrainian travellers are presently remaining in Sri Lanka, while the numeral of Russian travellers staying in Sri Lanka is near 11,500.
