Victor Hasselblad turtle research and conservation centre, Kosgoda is the 1st turtle conservation centre established in Sri Lanka in 1978.
Privet owns a turtle hatchery in Kosgoda. Easy access from the Gall Road, take the toad next to the Kosgoda police station. You were well maintained with lots of turtles, including injured. You can touch some of them under their supervision. If you visit in the evening, you can release baby turtles to the ocean.
You can feel how the life cycle of turtle rolls on. They are releasing the turtle back to the sea after the probation period is an excellent and kind gesture. It's good to know a lot of little information we will miss by visiting these kinds of places and feeling the nature miracles.
This is a must-visit place when you visit Bentota in Sri Lanka.
