The first 15 days of November have witnessed an impressive surge, with 74,664 visitors contributing 1.2 million. This surge is notably fueled by increased arrivals, particularly from cruise travellers. In a noteworthy turn of events, Sri Lanka has witnessed a substantial rise in tourist arrivals, with 719,978 visitors during the same period in 2022. This surge, marked by a notable increase in arrivals, signals a positive momentum for Sri Lanka’s tourism sector, which has faced challenges in recent years.

November Tourism Trends

In this period, the daily average of visitors has risen from 3,523 to 4,624, showcasing the increasing popularity of Sri Lanka as a travel destination. This growth is supported by data reflecting both air and sea embarkations. Notably, on the 9th of November, the super luxury passenger vessel M.V. Aida Bella, carrying 1,900 passengers and 730 crew members, made a significant call at the Port of Colombo.
