How to reach Negombo?Bandaranaike International airport is one international Airport in Sri Lanka located in Katunayake, about 6 Km from Negombo and around a 30-40 mins drive from Airport.
By Taxi
Like other airports, Bandaranaike International Airport is outfitted with airport car assistance desks that provide transfers to hotels in Negombo, which cost about LKR 1500-2000 unless your hotel’s booked an airport transfer.
By Bus
Public transportation to Negombo includes transiting by bus, Bus number 240, from Averiwatta Bus Station, approximately 1 km from the airport exit terminal, for LKR 100-120. The arrival end of the buses in Negombo is at the main bus stand at Greens Road, Negombo, straight next to the Railway Station.
Travelling by bus takes about 1 hour, with a regular number of operating buses. In addition, air-conditioned mini-buses cover the route in about 35 minutes at LKR 250.
